A review of the album 'Brit Awards 2001'
Normally when one mentions the Brit Awards it's the controversy that happens on the night that grabs the front page headlines. Gladly this year it's the music - and here's the proof.
Featuring Brit Winners Coldplay, U2, Robbie Williams, Fatboy Slim, Sonique, Kelis, A1 and Westlife, there's something for everyone here. Highlights include Dido's 'Here With Me', Coldplay's 'Yellow' and All Saints 'Pure Shores'. Irish acts are well represented with The Corrs 'Breathless', Ronan Keating's 'Life Is A Rollercoaster', Westlife's 'Fool Again' and 'Beautiful Day' by U2.
On the negative side there's the omission of Brit Winner Madonna, instead we're treated to household names like Jill Scott, MJ Cole and Architechs Featuring Nana (household names in their own homes).
The 37-track compilation caters for all musical tastes including Dance (Moloko),
Indie (PJ Harvey), Rock (Death In Vegas) and
R & B (Craig David). The inclusion of Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, Steps, and
Toploader, young and old alike will be dancing in the moonlight to this collection.
