Estel 'Homebase'
![]() The new L.P. "Angelpie I think I ate your face" is the next step from the 7". It features re-recordings of early songs and a lot of newer, more skewed, songs. The album also has three songs featuring vocals, the first time since one of the tracks on the first cassette. The album in its entirety was recorded completely live in a day and a half (except for vocals and an occasional third guitar) in the basement of recorder Stephen Shannon's house. It was then mixed over a couple of days on a digital eight track machine. The music is often wrongly associated with 'art rock'. However it owes as much to early crossover and punk bands like Sonic Youth (or early experiments with broader styles by various bands from Chicago, Washington D.C. and Glasgow) as it does to the more modern, less original 'art rock' bands that seem to be popping up at an alarming rate. This music is completely independent, using independent producers, and labels, but it is a million miles away from any form of music that might be referred to as 'indie'. Listen and make up your own mind. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
