Arch Stanton
Listen to his song 'Mercy of Mine'
Arch
Stanton is a 25 year old singer/musician/songwriter based in Dublin. His first interest in music showed its face back in
1979 when his letter to Santa included a request for 'a guitar with a light in the middle'. He, alas, is still waiting.
Since he began 7 years ago performing around Dublin, Arch has found himself in diverse musical roles, everything from
choral singing in the National Concert Hall to playing guitar in an avant-garde trio. At one time he even was even
employed to play keyboards in a country & western covers band but he deserves your forgiveness, he was young and he
needed the money.
Currently
Arch fronts his own group in the city. Along with performances on the radio and in the usual city venues, the band
recently supported Jack L in the Olympia. Other projects include singing for
ex-King Crimson member, David Cross, on his fifth solo album (for release in 2001). Furthermore he's collaborating with
stalwart Giordai Ua Laoghaire (ex-Nine Wassies from Bainne) and David Lacey (ex-Pet Lamb drummer) in a band called
Morgan the Bouncer. If that wasn't enough he is a member of experimental outfit Magnum Opus who are independently
releasing an album in Italy next year. The track featured here 'Mercy of Mine is from a recently recorded 3 track demo.
