Has anyone else heard this rumour? Apparently it's a two day event this year. I've heard that they're chasing the Beastie Boys as well.

The only rumour I've heard is that Fat Boy Slim is playing. No joke. There's no way they have the budget for Beastie Boys.

I wouldn't imagine that Beastie Boys would be much more expensive than Jurassic 5 and they played there last year.

jesus, thats a good line-up. OK could do with a hell of a lot of more acts but not bad what were peoples impressions of the Picnic in 2004? i didnt go in the end and heard tales of bus queues and noise and bars running out of beer. what was the actual experience like down there?

About time that Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds returned. Might go to see him solo in Cork in July aswell. This is a great line-up so far, even if I'm not into all of the acts. Antistar: Don't forget about the Bud Rising gigs in June and Hard Working Class Heroes Festival too.

It's a dream line up. I've got records by every artist on the line up (except Damien Dempsey, what the f*ck's he doing there). The hardest problem will be deciding who to go and see. I just know there's going to be some horrible clashes. I hope Nick Cave and De La Soul aren't on at the same time.

I was there last year. There was one main stage, a large big top type tent, and two smaller tents, one for DJs and the other for comedy. Apparently the Comedy tent kinda suffered being close to the main stage with Soulwax turning their amps up to 11,(they indeed did rock!). Overall it was pretty good and didn't feel too overcrowded, but its hard to say what it will be like this year with the obvious increased interest in the festival.

The best thing about last year was the crowd. I have to say out of all the big gigs I've ever been to in Ireland (Witness, Oxegen, Slane, Lansdowne Road, Creamfields, Phoenix Park, Trip to Tipp etc) it had the lowest percentage of skangers I've ever seen at an event like this. I'd say this was due to the booking policy more than anything else. And with the exception of Fatboy Slim and Laurent Garnier I don't think that there'll be too many acts this year that will attract the scumbags. However there are a couple of hiccups they'll have to iron out. 1. Beer - There were only three stalls last year selling beer and only one of them had an orderly queuing system. The other two were just free for alls. 2. Sound clashes - At one point I was standing between the dance tent and the big top and I could hear three different acts playing at once. Considering the size of the grounds it wouldn't hurt to have the stages a little further apart. 3. Water - It took me ages to find the drinking water taps and there was no water being distributed by the bouncers at the front of the dance tent. Considering how small and hot that dance tent was (there was literally sweat dripping from the ceiling) and the amount of people in there that were "pharmaceutically enhanced" I'm surprised no-one died of kidney failure. But besides these minor complaints I though it was a great gig.

Well just so long as they don't make me choose between AF and the Flaming Lips, if they do I'll plotz. I don't know what that word means.

well this year it's a 2 day thing, so i would imagine the setup is going to be totally different. So, that brings gigs this summer to: Pixies Chemical Brothers Basement Jaxx U2 Garbage in London Oxegen Electric Picnic Kasabian @ Wireless phew!
