you know the way sigur ros' ( ) album has lyrics that are in a made-up language so the listener can interpret the songs whatever way they want and are free to apply their own lyrics (quite an arty concept but it's a genuine thing with these guys i reckon, not a pretentious gesture)... i'd love to hear some thoughts and personal interpretations from fans of the record...i kinda subconsciously applied english lyrics to some of the songs and it brings a lot to the whole listening experience... actually, next time people sitting behind you on a bus are speaking in a language you don't know, pretend they're speaking english...it's amazing how many 'english' words you start hearing...can be quite an amusing way to pass the time 'n' all...er, sorry, the humid weather's gettin' to me!...

Nah, I don't hear English in the songs. I'll try now though. But I thought it was all Icelandic, not gibberish

I thought it was Icelandic also. If you want real vocal soundscapes with gibberish lyrics, you should check out the Cocteau Twins stuff (the girl who sang on Massive Attack's teardrop)

the band have said the ( ) album is purposely in a fake 'language', the vocals are "wordless lyrics"...the previous record was definitely in icelandic alright... Gh, this is what i hear for that song... you set it off fine you saw the line you saw.. you set it off fine you saw the line you saw.. you're so far gone you're so alone you're so.. your silent snow your silent snow your snow for me the mood of the song and these applied lyrics describe someone who has fallen short of all his/her dreams and has nothing left to long for...maybe i'm taking it too seriously but that song (the opening track), in particular, is frighteningly beautiful...

I don't know if The Nothing Song is in icelandic or in gibberish but when i listen to it I do hear english through the singing, thought I'd share it with you...: You don't know You don't know how lonesome I am... Desire... You don't know how lonesome I am... Desire... You don't know Its always clawing at my throat... Desire... You don't know how lonesome I am... Desire... **** You don't know I sing alone sometimes... Desire You don't know how lonesome I am... You don't know... I'm am so alone... You don't know how lonesome I am... You don't know...... So alone... So alone... You don't know, When I sing alone, I... Sing for you. Yes I sing for your absense... Where nothing blooms into a flower.

They are just sounds in their own right. I hate when people have to find meaning in everything.
