The Immediate's Debut EP "Don't Get Lost" is now available on an independent Dublin release in Road Records (Fade Street), Smile Records (South Great Georges Street), Mojo Records (Crown Alley, Temple Bar) and other quality record stores.
A launch gig will be announced soon.

sorry if plugging like this annoys anyone, but I think there should be a "new irish releases" discussion section on Cluas

It's only available on CD. I heard that if you want to make a vinyl, you have to send your master to somewhere in Scandinavia. But I might be getting that mixed up with vinyl-makers, which you DEFINITELY can't buy in Ireland.
My friend Peter (he's in the band too) buys A LOT of vinyl. He usually buys albums on CD, and EPs or singles on vinyl. But, apart from that, I only know one other person who buys vinyl.
Thanks for the kind words, Dromed

You should ask on Thumped.com , many bands there release their stuff on Vinyl.. also, try www.alpharelish.com , they're known for their Split 7" releases.

I only ask cos we are gettin vinyl done at the moment...from Croatia I do believe, at a decent price, works out at about €3 per copy, not too bad I guess - and we are trying to decide how many to order, i'm mad into my vinyl (when I can afford it) but wondered if anyone other then the road records crowd still buys it - I reckon if you put out vinyl in the likes of Tower records it would get pretty lost. Dunno?? Do Radio Djs take vinyl these days or is it all midi-fied??

What band are you in, Dromed? How many vinyls have you ordered? Is this your first release?
Have you got a chance to pick up our EP? Any feedback would be much appreciated..

I iz n de band known as Hi.Rise (Best said in stoned slow Jamacian accent ha ha ha!)Think we are getting about 200 vinyl and then CDs too, we had to agree that we were only getting one copy of the vinyl each in the band - which is sad cos I'd like to have a couple for the grand kids y'kno but at that price we can't really afford too many more. Bummer, I'm going to have to buy my own record - oh the joys of being in a broke ass band. Speaking of broke ass Conor I have not purchased your EP as of yet as it's not pay day til end of the month and I'll hopefully pick up a copy then along with the flippin' fabulous new Audio Bullys album 'Ego War' - have a heard a few tunes off it - sounds verryy nice indeed. That's Audio Bullys, not Audio Slave ! Ooo roll on pay day.

Oh yeah, I've seen you play in the Music Centre - very nice - This is weird, but we actually gave a crappy unmastered version of our EP to your drummer a while back, 'cos we rehearse in the Music Centre and we gave it to him while we were looking for any support gigs. Also Peter in our band bought one of your handmade cds in Road a while back too. He likes it a lot.
At the moment we're trying to organise a launch gig for the EP, but the amount of money you have to pay for a venue is ridiculous. By the time we have the launch gig, the EP will probably have been out for about a month...
We're still offering our support services - anytime!!!

Hey Conor. I know what you mean about venues being a joke for putting your own night own in Dublin - it justs costs wayy too much to put your own night on here - the last time we did that in a well-known venue it ended up costing us €2,000 between renting the venue and doing posters/flyers etc, and the place was pretty packed - problem there was two-fold: 1. the venue was charging crazy money for a THursday night but we said a h fu*k it it'll be fine and 2. the venue door staff weren't stoppin everyone in at the door so people were gettin in for free and then we made fu*k all and still owe them around €1,000 - total nightmare situation. We're only doin' decent supports now ourselves so we don't have to pay for the venue - but do let us know when you're playin again and we'll try and get down. We're going to be having our own launch night for new EP on 4th July downstairs in Viva, South William Street - no playing, we're DJing instead adn giving away freebies etc - maybe you should look at doing something along those lines if you find you can't get a venue cos of cash - where there's a will there's a way! Anyway say hello if u see me in the TBMC cos we're usually in there rehearsing too.

Jesus, 2000 euro? Crazy.
Another weird coincidence - I was downstairs in Viva last night for a DJ night...

I'm just back from seeing Keith Moss, Mumblin' Deaf Ro and Michael Knight in The Sugar Club - it was ace. Anyway, The guitarist from Saville was there, and he told us that you don't have to pay to rent a night in The Isacc Butt! Is this true?

Not sure to be honest - it's a pity it's a bit out of town cos I know that puts people off going a bit, but it beats paying extortionate amounts to rent a venue in the city centre.
