Did anyone see this tonight? Was it one of the immediate lads on guitar (for Cathy Davey)?

Yeah it was him. good to see their still involved in music so soon after the break - but yeah man it was a load of balls in my opinion. Tunes are grand on the radio as background music i suppose but full on = a big no-no from me.

Maybe we should change the name of this thread to 'Other Voices Last Night'? I can see it being a weekly topic of discussion...Cathy Davey was ok (with her all-star backing band), David Geraghty really surprised me-what a great voice and the song he did last night was better than anything Bell by 1 have done, real turn-up for the books...as for Ryan Adams, absolutely staggeringly brilliant- I've neglected his music in the last couple of years but the stuff he did last night shows he's right back on form. Note to Jenny Huston-Please STOP SMILING!

The problem with Ryan Adams is that you don't know which side of the coin your going to get. I've seen him 3 times, once circa Gold when he blew me away and twice since when he just stank the place out, utterly rubbish. When I see him on TV now I watch with my hands over my eyes just in case...Is last nights other voices available online yet though? Sounds promising.

Oh, and very professional and we're now changing the subject back to her presenting and broadcasting skills. Who's next?

I've never actually seen him live.I was put off by all the negative reviews of his gigs but I suppose when he's good, he's really good, as he was on Other Voices. It's repeated tonight at 00.50 am on RTE 2. It's also online too with some extra stuff.

I have always loved Geraghty's voice when he sings lead on the few Bellx1 tunes. I wouldnt agree with you that the song was better than anything BX1 have ever done, but its a good tune and he performed it well. I had high hopes for his album Kill Your Darlings but I have to say I found it boring and moreso I think he was indecisive as to what sound/style/genre he was trying to be...

I was a little bored with the first show, but I liked the first tune Ryan Adams played. That acoustic guitar interplay they had going was great, I could listen to that all day. Cathey Davey was good too.

Posted By starbelgrade on 19 Feb 2008 2:42 AM Some nice acoustic interplay... When I think of Deliverence, thats not the "interplay" that comes straight to mind.
