From Pitchfork: 'Because I have nothing better to do at 10 p.m. on a Thursday night, I'm sitting here refreshing www.RadioheadLP7.com ! And guess what? There's some sort of countdown going on. Something--I don't know what--is going to happen Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Chicago time (10 a.m. NYC time). No clues in the page source either-- all it says there is: !--WEAREWATCHING-- !--BEHA#PY-- Of course, as far as we know, this site doesn't have anything to do with the band. Radiohead's publicist says, "I know nothing of any official site by that name." So this could still all be a big hoax, and we could wake up Saturday morning to find a LOLcat there or something. But hey, I'm setting my alarm anyway. Posted by Amy Phillips in gossip on Thu: 09-27-07: 10:52 PM CDT'

http://www.nme.com/news/radiohead/31324 Radiohead appear to be revealing details of their new album, rumoured to be due for release in 2008, on their new website. Fans are convinced that the band are communicating information about their seventh album through a code, and have cracked what they think are the very first details of its track listing. A series of 'Radiohead hieroglyphs' appear by clicking on the link 'Hodiau Direkton'. The first code, which appeared on September 20, was deciphered as stating: 'Yes we are still alive'. A further posting on September 21 reads: 'Blink your eyes one for yes two for no code code code.' Fans posting on the band's message board have deciphered that these are in fact the lyrics for new song 'Bodysnatchers'. So far all the messages have been decoded as: September 20: YES WE ARE STILL ALIVE September 21: BLINK YOUR EYES ONE FOR YES TWO FOR NO CODE CODE CODE September 22: PLAUSIBLE DENIABILITY - although it appeared with the possibly deliberate error as PLAUSIBLE ENIAABILITZ September 22: XENDLESS September 23: MIGHT NOT OPERATE PROPERLY September 24: A FLATLINE WE ARE IN A MEETING September 25: CONSIDERING DISSEMINATION

So it turned out to be a hoax... Instead of releasing news of the next album the site plays Rick Astley's 'Never gonna give you up'... Stupid Nerdlingers must have taken a break from dungeons & dragons to dupe a few of us gullibles

Heard a thing about this on Phantom news this morning. Sounds like a good idea, you pay what you think its worth. Of course you probably have to decide before hearing the tracks which might make it hard? I'll download it and pay the standard .99c per track.

I think this is a pretty clever release method for a band like Radiohead that has a large established fan-base.. The hardcore fans who want a physical artifact can go for the LP\CD box (and it certainly looks like a lovely package) while those who just want to hear it, or fans with smaller budgets, can get the MP3s straight off.. and the casual listeners can pick up the ordinary CD version next year. I also like the fact that they've bypassed the typical 3 month long promotion cycle that normally leads up to a release.. Not sure how well this system would work for smaller bands, but fair play to them for trying out something a bit audacious. Hopefully the music is decent!

I just paid an english pound for the entire album.... then the bastards charged me a 45pence credit card fee - that works out as approximately €2.50 - WHAT A RIP-OFF!!!!!

Have a look at their website.. YOU decide how much you a re willing to pay ... seriously! You can pay as little as 1p up to .. em, dunno if there's a maximum limit. Then they send you a confirmation code which you can use to download the album on the release date - I think it's Nov 10th. There is a 45p credit card charge though, so the cheapest you'll get it for is approx 50cent. (like i said - total rip off!!)... I think it's an amazing marketing plan - just think of any major release album.. for each CD or LP downloaded, how many copies of it are done from the original? This way, it's nearly easier to download the bastard, and (depending what you pay), cheaper than chips!!! There was a feature about it on Sky "News" last night & they were asking punters how much they'd pay for it.. most of 'em went from a fiver up to 15quid (sterling).... now is that honesty or just stupidity?!?! I paid a quid mainly due to the fact that I forked out 50 odd quid for their last show here, in Marlay Park & they were s**te, so I reckon they owe me one!

BLAH! They're f**king loaded.. plus they'll make more from this than from releasing is the standard way thru a label - I ain't feelin' even slightly guilty... my only regret is that I didn't pay 1p for it!
