1. ARTHUR LEE - AMBASSADOR : ireland had just got oxo'ed out of the world cup i was drunk and emotional and in the throes of bronchitis. by the time he got to the end of his first song 'little red book' i think..i was like a dancin babywipe..leapin up and down with my ireland jersey half off me......boom tic tic boom tic tic YEAH!!!!
2. THE WHITE STRIPES - DUBLIN CASTLE : the dirtbombs and the von bondies kicked off and the white stripes wrecked shop on our dirty white asses...more importantly the first donabate beach party took place that night..this weekend (may bank hol) gave birth to the vodaphone ad..death disco dublin..8 miles to the nearest spar and to the coming together of dublins forces of darkness...and the blue bumbles
3. THE THINGS FIRST DEATH DISCO APPEARENCE - EAMONN DORANS - just a mad night...fell into dorans having puked my guts up at the bellrays in the temple bar music centre..right up the front where the band could see...The Things shat fire from their eyes that night..and i spat water at them in return..then it was all back to mine.....
4. THE MANIC STREET PRECHERS - THE POINT having not seen the manics live since 95 and in the light of their greatest hits i was kinda a little underexpectant..i was blown away however..by the strenght of their performance and by the sheer emotion of hearing them songs live again...spent a large proportion of the gig standing right down the back on my own and a small proportion of the gig with a tear in the eye....awwww
5.LISTO / THE THINGS / MILES JUDGE / DECLAN O ROURKE - THE MUSIC ROOM this gig was arranged with a days notice and ended up being just a fantastic night out..all acts played well and got into each others sets..it was a night i was proud to have been involved in and a line up that hopefully in a few years time would make u quivver at the thoughts that it was only € 4 in.......a small victory for a small dublin venue with small acts with big hearts!!

Unfortunately don't have 5 gigs that are worth listing, but that makes my one nomimation even more special. :o) Santana in Berlin last summer - simply amazing. The weather was appalling, I managed to lose my friends within 5 minutes of arriving, so got drenched to the skin while standing alone. Despite that, I stood with a huge smile on my face for the entire concert. What an atmosphere, what a band... fantastic.

For me,
1. The Frames - vicar street
2. Doves - Olympia
3. Ron Sexsmith - San fran (The Filmore)
4. Ben Folds - Ambassador.
5. Powderfinger - Sydney (Fox studios)
Biggest let down gig of 2002, FLCs at the Olympia, very rehearsed and false + really bad sound mixing.
