I haven't heard it yet but I do have their EP which is most brill and I've been dying to see them live but missed on till now. I think I'll prolly be catching them this Thursady.

It's fantastic, only maybe one weak song on it, but the rest is great especially my wild rose and jerusalem hills, will make it onto my top ten of the year no problem. go see them on thursday.

also playing with el diablo tonight are the connect 4 orchestra and jeff martin. doors 7.30 £6 / 5 with flyer or picture of old nick.

maybe they just didn't play well on thursday, but el diablo bored me to tears. we left to drink in the bar after 3 songs, although i came back in a while later and it was more of the same. did anyone hear nick cave in the lyrics? and moaning drone singing? connect4orchestra were amazing, but i missed the first act.

Yeah, I agree. Enjoyed Jeff Martin and C4O but found El Diablo boring and Carey's voice bland and irritating.

i'd have to completely disagree, i think the singing is completely the opposite of moany... wailing and whining, if you like, in the best country way. Jerusalem Hills is an AMAZINg song, and anyone who doesn't like Shitkickers Inc must have ice in their veins.

I like the sound and feel of it - but I get anoyed by the all consuming obsession with Americana. I don't want to acuse El Diablo of being contrived but.... well, I do. I understand the temptation to indulge in images and lyrics like this but it really distracts me from the more original things about the album.
