Yes indeed Dark One. I've got Black Sheep Boy but can't seem to get my hands on the appendix. No-one in Dublin stocks it, it seems.
Excellent band and it should be a great gig. Maybe i'll pick up the appendix from the merch. table.

i am with the dark one on this... one of the albums of last year for me... great lyrics and vocals, instantly catchy (if somewhat familiar sounding) melodies, kinda slightly off-beat alt-country with a rocking side and a tiny bit of electronic noodling and in general very clever, black-sheep boy being a concept that runs through the lyrics

yep cannot wait for this gig, you can get appendix tru amazon, or the sneaky way of soulseek!(were i got it from),hopefully they will have a decent bit of merch on sale at the gig, i wanna pick up a few things that included.
the black sheep boy concept that runs tru the album is a brilliant idea, i used to love that song when i was a kid,
the label they are on jagjaguwar is a great label, lots of quality acts, black mountain and the pink mountaintops are on there, they are playing the music centre the night before okkervil river that should be another top night.

The appendix is an EP-ish collection of tunes that didn't feature on the album. Appanrently it's really good. One review below from that old indie staple, Pitchfork.

Yeah, love that Black Mountain release too Dark One. Haven't heard anything from Pink Mountaintops but curiosity is very much aroused. Same kind of vein as Black Mountain?

yeah the pink mountaintops is the side project of the singer Stephen mcBean, they are a more lo fi gospelly version of black mountain in my opinion, Their new album is similar to a spiritualized/ spacemen 3 buzz, but dont let that put you off!, check out www.blackmountainarmy.com for more info.

For real was amazing, they should have finished the main part of the set with it as it was hard to top from there.

Damn! Blast! and curses! Didn't go because of a little over-indulgence on Saturday night. Mate told me the same thing. One of the best gigs he's ever been at apparently.

Didn't see the gig (don't live in Dublin any more), but thanks to this post, I've since become obsessed with the "Black Sheep Boy" LP. Kudos, Unicorn/Dark One.
