Ah Q2, sick minds think alike. Or something. Because I was only thinking the other day of starting a thread like this. The peculiar thing however is that I - like you - not only have Bryan Adams 'Reckless' in my collection but I too dig it. Anyway here are some other embarrassments in my collection: Deacon Blue's Paul Oakenfeld produced 1993 album 'Whatever You Say, Say Nothing'. It's actually excellent. No, I swear. There was apparently huge tension between the band during the recording and you can sure hear it from start through to finish. Elton John's 1982 album 'Too Low for zero'. It was the first music cassette I ever bought. Picked it up decades ago when I was 11 or something at some dodgy market just over the Northern Ireland border. I soon lost it but the shameful thing is I bought it again on CD a few years ago cuz it was going for 2 quid or something in a second hand shop and I was curious to hear what the heck I was listening to as an eleven year old. I do have also have Sister Sledge's 'Frankie' on 7". I bought it not back in the 80s but about 6 years ago. It's the most wonderfully cheesy bit of pointless 80s pop imaginable. Brillo. Any others prepared to also put whatever scraps of credibility they may have on the line? eoghan

Karlito, I can so identify with the bad dance music thing, I have to confess to actually liking 2 Unlimited - Are you ready for this, its cheesy europop, its completely inane, its terrible, but I don't care, I still love it. Its not actually in my CD collection, mercifully at the time I was a youth who did not have the cash to fund my stupidity.

Forgive me brethern for I have sinned, in the form of: Heart - 'Bad Animals' : I was convinced that these soft rock sisters were the future of music, this was the first record I ever bought, for €6 in Golden Discs when I was 11 years old, I still haven't thrown it out though...Hhhmmmmmm I'm a sentimental fool (Contains the poetic lyric 'RSVP it's a private affair, I just won't believe that you don't care'......wow 'Monster Hits' - 1989, double vinyl : I could try and convince myself that I still haven't thrown this out cos there's The The's 'Infected' and The Beloved on here as well as 808 state, but the truth is AhA were on it and that song 'What's the Colour of Money?' ....eeeek! Madonna - 'Erotica' (Single)- I'm embarrased enough that this is in my cd collection that i have it facing the wrong way around (!) but i still love this song, and I won't throw it out Adam Ant - (Adam and the Ants) - Ant Music - I have an obsession with the (young!) beautiful Adam Ant, that I'm told I should be ashamed of...but I can't help it...Kings of the Wild Frontier...what a song! EMF - Schubert Dip - Another record I have hidden away - but have to dig it out and listen to 'Children' every now and then....first gig I ever went to!...they came from the Forest of Dean you know..... Sade - Diamond Life - it's jazzy...it's smooth...it shouldn't be there, but I love her voice George Michael - Listen Without Predjudice - I know it's bad...but I like this record...there I've said it and the worst of the lot....gulp!.... Counting Crows - The one with Mr. Jones on it...I know I know....it was a moment of weakness, I liked the song, bought the album in ...jaysus..in 1994, and i'm soooooo ashamed

I'll not have anyone dissing Adam and the Ants!! I bought all of their singles at a record auction about 8 years ago (and yes, they all laughed). Haven't ever listened to them but I just know those 45s are going to make my grandchildren a fortune one day. Scariest of all is the 12 inch single (the track escapes me) which had an Advent calendar on the cover, each day revealing one of the Ants respendant in their dandy glory. Nothing like celebrating the run into Xmas by opening a window and seeing Marco leering back - very disturbing.

Where do I feckin' start on this one! I too have Reckless by Bryan bloody Adams. I saw him live in Feile once too. Sang my heart out. Alanis MOrrissette - Jagged Little Pill. Hideous. Phil Collins - But Seriously.... I offer no excuse and will take all punishment doled squarely out on the chin.

Ok I also fell victim to the evil Alanis Morrisette thing and bought Jagged little pill also in there was Kylie-Kylie which featured I should be so lucky...god damn and House of Pain-Shamrocks and shenanigans...dear god what was i thinkin!

Kylies great, shame about her music though Nah seriously, she has put out some crackingly good singles lately. "Can't get you out of my head" and "Slow" are both electro-pop gems that have been remixed to death by every dj/bootlegger/remixer out there. Buying her albums on the other hand is not advisable. Her Stock, Aitken and Waterman stuff is never going to be cool (sorry Kim) but I reckon lots of people accidentally find themselves nodding/singing along when "I should be so lucky" comes on the radio followed by quickly looking around to see if anyone was looking.

alanis is no shame. have a listen to that song about a catholic girlhood again - i think it's great. i'm embarrassed when people see i own iron maiden, but i still like it!

Ha ! I'll see your Bryan Adams and Alannis Morrisettes and raise you a Nickelback single. And no, it wasn't The Big Hit, although I do have that on a compilation....it was the second single, "Too Bad". Oh, and Adam and the Ants rocked. I am patiently awaiting the revival. One last comment: I was, and still am, a huge Big Country fan, and I'm not ashamed of it either. Their first few albums were class, despite all the lazy c*nts in the music press who only talked about the plaid shirts and the oh - so - hilarious bagpipe cliches. One day the late lamented Stuart Adamson will be recognised as the master songwriter he was.

It's interesting you say that about Morisette jmmcd. I'd have the say the two albums I'm least proud of in my collection are Oasis's "What's the Story?" and Morisette's "Jagged Little Pill". At least I have the excuse that my sister bought them because I was at home having had my wisdom teeth removed and asked her to get me some albums to relieve the boredom. I probably should have been more specific. But I agree that that song is a good 'un. Think it's called Halleluiah or something like that.
